Hello friends! I have a very special post to share with you today. It’s a surprise 50th Birthday Blog Bash for Kim van der Sanden, the mastermind and founder of My Favorite Things. I actually had the privilege to meet Kim the other week and spend some time with her. I really enjoyed getting to know her better. She’s one of the sweetest, generous and most down-to-earth people! So, all that to say, Happy Birthday, dear Kim! I hope it’s a very special one!
I created this fun Birthday Box Card to send to Kim. I used the super cute, Birdie Brown ‘Happy Hippos’ Stamp Set combined with the banners from the BB ‘Up in the Air’ Set.
I first stamped all of my images onto smooth white card stock with Copic friendly black ink. I then colored them with Copic Sketch Markers and cut them out with their coordinating dies.
For the base/box portion of my card, I started with a 12″x12″ piece of white scrapbook paper and cut it to 11.5″ x 4.25″. I then scored this piece along the long side at 4″, 5.5″, 9.5″ and 11″. Following this, I rotated it and scored all the way down the short side at 2 1/8″. Once I had the box ready, I simply used some card stock and patterned paper to cut the decorative panels.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my card today! Make sure to head on over to the MFT Blog to wish Kim a very Happy Birthday and see what other birthday cards the MFT team has come up with!
As always, thanks so much for dropping by! Have a lovely day!
Rachel
