Hello, friends! We are halfway through the June Release Countdown from My Favorite Things! I have a really fun new stamp set to share with you today called Fish You Were Here.
In my opinion, you can never have too many ocean-themed stamp sets. This one is filled with cute little fish and a couple of cute little whales! I decided to create a slimline card that featured most of these cute little sea creatures swimming in the ocean.
I started by creating the base by cutting a piece of Kraft Card Stock to 8.5″ x 3.5″. I then used the Whimsical Woodgrain Background and stamped it twice onto this piece with Milk Chocolate Ink. I then lightly blended this piece with both Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso Distress Inks.
I then blended some Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Inks onto a long piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and then splattered it with water. Once dry, I then dietcut three circles from it, using the Circle STAX Die-namics.
I then stamped my fish and colored the with Copics before using the coordinating Fish You Were Here Die-namics to cut them out. I attached these circles to the base of my card and then used the Ocean View Porthole Die-namics to cut out some 3D foam frame borders to place around the circles. I then adhered my fish to where I wanted and then added my shaker embellishments.
Next, I glued a piece of clear acetate on top of each circle and let it dry. Once ready, I then diecut three Ocean View Portholes from White Card Stock and placed them on top of the faux windows. I used a silver puffy paint to add my “screws” on top of each porthole. Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment with super fine detail with embossing powder onto a strip dark brown card stock and adhered it to the front of my card.
There are only three more days until the new release becomes available! Make sure to stop by the MFT Blog and leave a comment there for a chance to win a $75 MFT Gift Voucher!
