Hello, friends! I truly can’t believe that August snuck up on us so quickly! However, it’s true and believe it or not, Halloween will be here before you know it! For those of you that celebrate, the new Spooktacular Friends illustrated by Stacey Yacula is sure to bring a smile to your face.

To start, I first stamped all of my images onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and colored them with Copics. I used the coordinating Spooktacular Friends Die-namics to cut them out.

I then worked on my background by blending some Distress Oxide Inks (colors listed in the photo above) onto another sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Once my ink was blended, I splattered this panel with some water using a #4 brush and clean water. I let it sit for about a minute before blotting it dry with a paper towel.

Once dry, I then splattered my background with some diluted Opaque White Paint to resemble stars. When my panel was dry, I trimmed it down to 4″ x 5.25″ and then adhered it to an A2 sized, top-folding, card base from Black Licorice Card Stock.

I then diecut a panel of grass from Black Licorice Card Stock using the new Tucked-in Turf Vertical Die-namics. I also added a tree from the same colored Card Stock using the new Eerie Tree Die-namics and some bats from the Best Witches Stamp Set. Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder onto the bottom right portion of my card and attached my images with both liquid adhesive and/or 3D Foam Squares for some added dimension.

So vivid it almost glows!
Thanks, Sherri!
Looks very much like a dark and spooky night, but our little friends are happy!
Thank you, Kristen! It’s fun making “spooky” Halloween cards with such cute images!
Your nocturnal background is sublimely depicted by way of blended colouring, starry backdrop and floating ‘orbs’. Overall, a fun Halloween scene – even the bats in flight are cute as! Thank you for sharing. Cheers and blessings from the Land Down Under.
Thank you so much, Adam! :0)
