Hello, friends! We’re halfway through the countdown until all of the new products from the MFT Stamps August Release can be made yours! There is still so much more to share over the next few days!
Today, my card features the Squirrel! Clear Stamps Set by Birdie Brown. Talk about cuteness overload! I created a slimline card so that I could feature a bunch of these adorable squirrels in one card.
To start, I stamped all of my images onto a sheet o Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Copic friendly Black Ink. I then used Copic Sketch Markers to color everything and the coordinating Squirrel! Die-namics to cut them out.
I trimmed another piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock to 8.5″ x 3.5″ and blended it lightly with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Inks. I then lightly splattered this panel with a little bit of water and then blotted it dry with a clean paper towel. This process just adds a little bit of texture to my sky and also helps the inks to blend together a little more.
I used the Grassy Hills Die-namics to cut out a strip of grass from Smooth White Card Stock. I then blended this piece with some Peeled Paint and Crushed Olive Distress Oxide Inks (for more of a fall look) and set it aside to dry. Once dry, I then stamped my sentiment with Black Ink into the lower left corner and also stamped a few tufts of grass (from the Squirrel! stamp set) in green ink for some added interest. I trimmed this piece to fit perfectly onto the bottom of my slimline card and attached it with some liquid adhesive.
I then adhered my branches with some liquid adhesive and my squirrels with some 3D Foam Adhesive Squares to make them look slightly 3D. Lastly, I added a few random white dot accents onto both the sky and the grass using a White Gel Pen.
