Hello, crafty friends! Today starts the countdown for the latest Card Kit from My Favorite Things! The Starry Night Card Kit is filed with the perfect elements for creating the most lovely starry sky.

For my project today, I combined the kit with the BB Space Explorer Stamp Set. I love the colors in this sky. I think the green, blue, and purple custom Ken Oliver Color Burst combination make for such a gorgeous galaxy blend.

To start, I first blended all three colors (Field Day, Blueberry, and Grape Jelly) that come with this kit onto a sheet of Watercolor Paper. Once dry, I then splattered this panel with white ink to resemble stars. I also used the Starry Night Die-namics to cut some stars into my background panel. Lastly, I used the panel die to cut a rounded section of my night sky to place as a background on my card.

I layered my night sky with a piece of Black Licorice Card Stock to add some contrast to the stars and then adhered both pieces to the base of my card. I then stamped my sentiment onto the lower right hand corner of my card with Black Ink.

I stamped my images with Black Ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and colored them with Copic Markers. I then used the coordinating BB Space Explorer Die-namics to cut them out. I adhered both images to my card base with some 3D Foam Squares for some added dimension.

Thank you so much, Cindi! The Color Burst Powders make it so easy! ☺️
What a fun, colorful card. That Color Burst background is amazing.
Thank you, Cyndi! 💕 I usually use Distress Inks for my backgrounds but I love the Color Burst Powders because you can easily control how subtle or deep you want your colors to be based on how much powder and water you combine. 👍🏻
Such a cute card!
Thank you! ☺️
Such a good design with the little Space Explorer added!
Thank you, Kathy! It’s one of my favorite Stamp Sets, so I love when I get the chance to use it! ☺️💕
This card is out of this world! Top notch stuff Rachel. TFS. Cheers and blessings from Oz, Adam.

You have created a super fun card, Rachel! The little astronaut fits wonderfully on that gorgeous galaxy sky! Wonderful colours! Love the great new MFT card kit! Thanks so much for the great inspiration!
Thank you for your sweet feedback, Helen! It’s such a versatile kit! And the Color Burst Powders are a lot of fun to use. I like to add a lot of powder when I mix it with water to get a vivid effect. ☺️💕
What a great sky!!!
Thank you, Patricia! I basically just used a paintbrush to “swirl” the three colors together after I had diluted them off to the side of my paper. It was really easy! It didn’t really look like much until I had added the stars lol.
Wow, Rachel! Your sky looks amazing! You used those powders to the hilt! Love it and that sweet space guy. Your coloring is always on point! Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you so much, Jeanne! ☺️♥️ The Color Burst Powders are a lot of fun to play around with! When I first tried them a few months ago, they were a bit intimidating. But I find them super easy to use now and very versatile.
You’ve inspired me….. I even have the little astronaut. Looks like Color Burst is fun as well as easy.
