Hello, friends! For this month’s Hit & Highlights Feature from My Favorite Things, the MFT Design Team was challenged to combine their favorite MFT holiday classics with October release products to come up with appealing new combinations to add to our stack of seasonal cards. I decided to combine a different character from quite a few of my favorite MFT holiday sets in a single layer, slimline card. Check out the links at the bottom of this post to see which particular sets were used.

After a little bit of trial and error on a scrap piece of paper, I first figured out the layout of my images. I needed to decide which characters would be in the foreground of my card and which others would blend into the background so that I could first stamp the images that would be in front and then later stamp the images that would appear to be behind them. To do this, I used some masking paper. I simply stamped certain images onto a sheet of making paper, fussy cut them right around their outer edges and then lay this mask on top of my stamped image on my card front to protect it from the images that would be partially stamped on top of them. This is what helps to create the illusion of the images standing behind others.

Once I had everything stamped, I then used Copic Sketch Markers to color everything.
Copic Colors Used:
- Reds: R05, R46, R89
- Greens: YG01, G20, YG13, YG17, G28
- Brown Dog: E30, E23, E25, E29
- Brown Deer: E40, E42, E43, E44, E47
- White Yeti: 0, C00, C1, C2, C4
- Black: W4, W5, W7, W9
- White Polar Bear: W00, W1, W2, W4
- Blue Yeti Face: B0000, B00, B01, B02, B05
- Blue Sky: B91, B93
- Ground and Shadows: W00, W1, W2, W4

I then stamped my sentiment from the new Bitty Holiday Wishes Stamp Set with Black Ink onto the bottom portion of my card. I then added some snow using a white gel pen. It’s always so difficult to force myself to color white dots on top of my images once I am done coloring them. However, the snowy effect is worth it and will look really cool once you finish it. Lastly, I layered my card with both Cornflower and Smooth White Card Stock.

You are so sweet, Jen, thank you! Have a wonderful weekend! <3
Amazing how the characters from the different stamp sets look so good together. The masking makes everything look great (definitely prefer this look versus the die cutting). It’s very helpful how you broke out the copic colors. Great for reference.
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback! :0)
