Hello and happy Friday! I am looking forward to the weekend and I hope that you are too! I am so excited to share something new and amazing to My Favorite Things! They are now coming out with their own brand of hot foiling dies! I knew what hot foiling was but I had never attempted it until just recently. I can tell you that it’s super addictive and so easy to do.

I have a set of winter-themed thank you cards to share with you today. I kept them rather simple because I wanted the foiling to be the star of the show and the main focus. I used both the new Impressive Thank You Hot Foil Die along with the Thank You Outline Die-namics, as well as the gorgeous Impressive Snowflake Hot Foil Die. You can see these beautiful snowflakes impressed into the background of my card.

So, you might be asking yourself, what do I need in order to use these fun new dies? You would need a Hot Foil Machine and a compatible Die-cutting machine. I ended up purchasing the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System because I was able to use the diecutting machine that I currently own (Sizzix Big Shot Plus). I wanted to spend as little as possible and did not want to have another diecutting machine in my craft room that would just take up more space. However, everyone is different! If you’re curious, HERE is a list of compatible diecutting machines with Glimmer Hot Foil System.

The other Hot Foil Machine that is on the market is the Gemini Foil Press Machine by Crafter’s Companion. I have heard so many amazing things about this machine. The only caveat is that you would also need to purchase their coordinating Gemini Die Cutting Machine. You can’t go wrong with either machine and the foiling effects are just gorgeous!

Beautiful cards Rachel! I love the color!
Thank you! I appreciate all of your sweet comments! :o)
I love the look of the foil but as you say having to buy yet another machine is a deterrent for me. Thanks for explaining this technique and I do love the cards you made…
Thank you so much, Anne! <3
Love the gorgeous inspiration. The new release seems to be amazing!
Thank you!
These cards are stunning and stylish, Rachel. Your talents are ceaseless. TFS. Cheers and blessings from Oz, Adam.
Thank you so much, Adam! I wasn’t sure what I would think of the hot foiling technique but it’s a lot of fun and definitely addictive lol.
