Hello everyone! We have a new Color Challenge from My Favorite Things! The colors for Challenge #129 are After Midnight, Ripe Raspberry, Persimmon, and Summer Splash. You don’t have to use these exact colors to play along but rather ones that these colors inspire you to use.

For my project today, I used the newly released Polar Penguins Stamp Set. I first created a bold blue background sky by blending some blue Distress Oxide Inks (Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, and Chipped Sapphire) onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Smooth White Card Stock. Once blended, I then splattered this panel with some water and blotted it dry with a paper towel. Once it was completely dry, I heat embossed some snowflakes with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder using the new Serene Snowflake Stamp Set. I then splattered this piece again with some diluted Opaque White Paint to resemble a flurry of falling snow.

I stamped all of my images with Black Ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used Copic Markers to color everything and the coordinating Polar Penguins Die-namics to cut them out.
Copic Colors Used:
- Whites: 0, C00, C0, C2, C4
- Reds: R05, Y07, R46, R89
- Pinks: RV02, RV04, RV06, RV09, RV19
- Browns: E30, E31, E25
- Black: W5, W7, W8
- Orange: YR02, YR07
- Teal: BG10, BG13, BG49

Lastly, I added some snow drifts by diecutting some white card stock with the Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics. I had stamped my sentiment onto the bottom right corner of my first snow drift prior to attaching the piece to my card. I used both liquid glue and 3D Foam Adhesive Squares to attach all of my images.

Come play along for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher! (Winner is chose randomly.) Head to the MFT Blog for the contest link and for more Color Challenge Inspiration.

Great color combination! I love how you’ve used them! Great scene!
Thank you, Heidi! It’s a fun color combo for the sketch challenge. Sometimes it takes me awhile to figure out what to create for these challenges but the combo this time is great for winter-themed cards which made it easier lol.
