Hello crafty friends! First off, I want to wish all of you that celebrate a very Merry Christmas! I have a quick Christmas card to share with you today for the latest Sketch Challenge from My Favorite Things.

I used one of the adorable selfies from the Birdie Brown Christmas sELFies Stamp Set (one of my favorite sets). I stamped it onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and then colored it with Copic Sketch Markers. I then trimmed it out with a paper trimmer. I diecut a stitched scallop frame for my image using the Stitched Mini Scallop Square STAX. I then used the Square STAX Set 1 Die-namics to cut a window in the middle of this piece to create my frame.

For my background, I blended a mix of Blueprint Sketch and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks onto a piece of Smooth White Card Stock. I splattered some water onto this piece before it dried and then blotted any excess with a clean paper towel. I added some “snow” by splattering it also with diluted Opaque White Paint.

In order to follow the sketch closely, I then added some stitched clouds using the Stitched Clouds Die-namics. Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment onto a strip of Red Hot Card Stock and used the Skinny Strips Die-namics to cut it out.

Here’s a look at this week’s sketch! Come play along for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher! Make sure to stop by the MFT Blog for more challenge inspiration.
