Hello crafty friends! There’s only one day left until the January MFT Vault Release becomes available! For my card today, I combined a bunch of the products that are being re-released from retirement.

I combined the Pure Innocence Farmer Girl Stamp Set along with the Barn Die-namics and Farm Fence Die-namics. I can’t tell you how excited I was to see that the Barn Die-namics were being pulled out of retirement. I had missed out on this set years back and had been scouring the internet for it over the past few years with no success. I started by diecutting this barn from Smooth White Card Stock and coloring parts of it with brown Copic Markers (E40, E41, E42, E43, E44, E47). I stamped my images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, colored them with Copics, and used the coordinating Farmer Girl Die-namics to cut them out.

I then created my background by using a mix of Distress Oxide Inks. I used the picture above for inspiration for what I wanted to look like a vibrant sunrise down on the farm. I first lined up where I wanted to place my grass and placed a circle cut from masking paper where I wanted my sun to appear. Next, I removed the grass and blended my background with Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Squeezed Lemonade, Tumbled Glass, and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Inks.

I diecut some grassy hills using both the Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics (in the background) and the Grassy Hills Die-namics (in the foreground) from both Sour Apple and Jellybean Green Card Stock. I blended a little bit of Mowed Lawn Distress Ink on a few of the pieces to add some contrast. I also diecut a fence from white card stock to add some more detail to my scene.

Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder in the top left corner of my card prior to assembling it together.

Wishing you all a lovely day!

Rachel, your mad coloring and blending skills are an inspiration, and I love that you used a snow drift die for part of your grassy background– just shows how well MFT designs thru the ages can all still work beautifully together- and in unexpected ways. Thank you!
