Hello friends! We’re kicking off the MFT Stamps February Release Countdown with a brand new stamp set from Birdie Brown! The Birthday Buds Set is filled with a bunch of cute images that you can add to your stash!
I created a fun birthday shaker card today that showcases a few of these images. To start, I first created my ink-blended background by trimming a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and blending it with some Distress Oxide Inks (Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac, Mermaid Lagoon, and Cracked Pistachio). I used a #4 paintbrush to then splatter this piece with water. I let it sit for about a minute before taking a clean/dry paper towel to blot off any excess. Once finished, I then splattered this piece again with some diluted Opaque White Paint for some added texture and interest.
I used the Gift Box Cover-Up Die-namics to create a 4-paneled grid for the front of my card. I actually die cut 5 of these pieces and adhered them together with liquid adhesive to create a dimensional frame. I then glued this entire piece to the front of my card. Once the glue had set, I then added some shaker embellishments (Studio Katia Magestic 3M Sequins & Sparkling Crystals) and covered this entire piece with a piece of clear acetate. Lastly, I diecut one more Gift Box Frame to cover up my acetate and give a clean look to my shaker card.
I then added my images with some 3D Foam Adhesive Squares for some added dimension. Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder onto a strip of black card stock and adhered it to the front of my card.

Rachel I love the background color combo- just made a note for future reference as it’s a winner. Your setup for the animals is perfect, and in particular the pig and elephant brought back a Brady Bunch intro memory (like they are looking down and up at each other) that made me smile.
Awww, thank you so much, Julie! I love your analogy! I see it too! 🙂
Such a cute shaker card! Beautiful background.
