Hello friends! It’s time for a new Sketch Challenge from My Favorite Things! I love the weekly sketch challenges because they help to stretch one’s creativity and card making skills! If you have some extra time this week, I encourage you to come and play along!
My card today features the newly released Sweet Shop Stamp Set illustrated by Stacey Yacula. To start my card, I first created a hexagon-shaped tile floor using the Honeycomb Background Stamp, placing it at an angle to mimic the sketch layout.
Next, I placed a thin white strip above my “floor” to resemble a baseboard. I added some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink above and behind my baseboard in order give some added contrast and interest.
I stamped my image onto a strip of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, colored it with Copic Markers, and used the coordinating dies to cut it out. Lastly, I stamped my sentiment with Black Ink and then adhered my image to the card with 3D Foam Adhesive Tape.
Here’s a look at this week’s sketch. Come play along for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher ! (Winner is chosen at random.) Make sure to stop by the MFT Blog for more sketch inspiration from the participating team members!
