Hello friends! I absolutely love the Sketch Challenges from My Favorite Things! It’s always fun when you can come up with an idea that works for the current sketch. It’s a great way to push yourself out of your comfort zone!

I created a simple but vibrant card for my take on this week’s sketch. I decided to use an image from the Birdie Brown Magical Friends Set as my center focal point and some clouds for the background images. To start, I first trimmed a piece of Smooth White Card Stock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and blended it with some Spun Sugar, Peacock Feathers, and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks starting with more color at the top of my panel and then gradually blending it lighter to disappear within the white card stock toward the bottom.

I then splattered this piece lightly with water using a #4 paint brush and then blotted it dry with a paper towel after letting it sit for about a minute. Once this background piece was dry I then diecut some large clouds using the Cloud Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics. I adhered these pieces with some liquid adhesive and used scissors to trim off the excess from the sides.

I then added my stamped image between these clouds using some 3D Foam Adhesive Squares for added dimension. Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment onto a strip of Black Licorice Card Stock with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder and cut it out using one of the Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strip Die-namics.
