Hello friends! This month’s Birthday Project Challenge is all about using hearts on our birthday projects! Hearts are the universal symbol of love and can be used for more than just Valentine’s Day Cards!
I combined some adorable stamp sets illustrated by Stacey Yacula for my card today. (All products used are listed at the bottom of this post.) I stamped all of my images with Black Ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I colored them with Copic Markers and then used the coordinating die sets to cut them out.
I then worked on my background by blending some pink Distress Oxide Inks (Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, and Picked Raspberry) onto a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Smooth White Card Stock. I splattered this piece with some water to give it more interest and then blotted it dry with a paper towel. I then splattered it again with diluted Opaque White Paint and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. Once dry, I stamped my sentiment onto the top right corner with Black Ink.
I then worked on creating a frame to allow some room for my embellishments. To create my frame, I used the Stitched Rectangle Frames Die-namics and cut 7 frames out from white card stock. I glued six of them together and added them to my 4.25″ x 5.5″ card base after I had first adhered my pink background to my base. I then mixed some Spring Flowers Sequin Mix from Pretty Pink Posh along with some 3mm Magestic Sequins from Studio Katia.
Next, I added a piece of clear acetate over the top of my frame and pressed the acetate to the frame until it dried. Lastly, I added one last final frame to the top prior to adding my images with 3D Foam Adhesive Squares.
