MFT Stamps | May Release Countdown – Halfway There!

May 2, 2020

Hello friends! We’re halfway through the My Favorite Things May Release Countdown! My card today features the new Happy Hummingbird Stamp Set combined with the new Dandelion Greenery Set.

To start, I first created my background by blending some Distress Oxide Inks (Tumbled Glass, Milled Lavender, and Wilted Violet) onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Once my colors were blended, I then lightly splattered my panel with some water using a clean #4 paint brush. I blotted off any excess with a clean paper towel and then set this piece aside to dry.

I then stamped my hummingbirds onto another piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I used Copic Markers to color them and the coordinating Die-namics to cut them out.

Copic Colors Used:

  • Teals: BG11, BG13, BG49
  • Pinks: RV00, RV02, RV04
  • Greens: YG01, YG06, YG17, YG67
  • Warm Grays: W00, W2
  • Violets: BV000, BV00, BV04

Next, I took my ink blended panel and heat embossed the greenery from the Dandelion Greenery Stamp Set with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder. I then stamped my sentiment with black ink onto the top right hand corner and adhered my hummingbirds with some 3D Foam Adhesive Squares for some added dimension.

This is lovely… love hummingbirds so much. It’s about time to start seeing them here. I am not a fan of dandelions in my yard, but this greenery set is really pretty too. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much, Anne! 🥰 I love hummingbirds too. We used to have them in our backyard all the time during the summer where I grew up.

Thank you, dear Emma! 💗 I used to do it a lot more often as well. It takes a little more effort but I love the effect!
