MFT Stamps | Wednesday Sketch Challenge #489

May 13, 2020

Hello friends! I hope you are all doing well! It’s time for a brand new Sketch Challenge from My Favorite Things! For my take on this week’s sketch, I used one of the cute images from the Birdie Brown Unicorns & Glitter Stamp Set.

I tried to stick with the sketch layout (shown above) as much as possible. To start my card, I first stamped my image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I then used Copic Markers to color my image and the coordinating Unicorns & Glitter Die-namics to cut it out.

Copic Colors Used:

  • Skin: E0000, E000, E11, E04
  • Hair: E50, E53, E55
  • Teals: BG10, BG11, BG13, BG49
  • Violets: BV000, BV02, BV04, BV08
  • Whites: 0, C00, C0, C2
  • Pinks: RV00, RV52, RV55, RV66

I then trimmed a piece of Smooth White Card Stock to approximately 4.5″ x 3.5″ and blended it with some Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Inks. I started from the top with the darkest color and worked my way down to the lightest, leaving some white space at the very bottom. Once with panel was dry, I then diecut it with one of the stitched rectangle dies from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics Set 2.

Next, I figured out where I wanted to place my image on the panel and then heat embossed some white sparkles with some Fine Detail White Embossing Powder. I then stamped my sentiment from the BB Bitty Bears Stamp Set with Black Ink at the bottom of this panel. I then set this entire piece aside to work on the base of my card.

For my base, I simply diecut another stitched rectangle from white card stock using the same stitched rectangles as above. I then cut some strips of Silver Glitter Card Stock from the Holly Jolly Glitter Card Stock Pack and then ran these strips through my diecutting machine with the same stitched rectangle die that I used for my base. I adhered these strips to my piece of cardstock with some liquid adhesive and then added this entire panel to my top folding A2 sized card base. Lastly, I added my ink blended panel and attached my image with some 3D Foam Adhesive Tape for some added dimension.
