MFT Stamps | June MFT & Friends

June 9, 2020

Hello friends! The June Release from My Favorite Things is officially here! I have one last card to share with you today featuring some of the new products from this amazing release. I created an underwater-themed slimline card using the new Best Fins Stamp Set.

To start, I stamped all of my images with Black Ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used Copic Markers to color everything and the coordinating Best Fins Die-namics to cut them out.

Copic Colors Used:

  • Browns: E41, E42, E43, E44
  • Purples: V000, V01, V04, V06
  • Greens: G20, G24, YG17, YG67
  • Teals: BG10, BG11, BG13, BG49
  • Yellows: Y11, Y13, Y15, V12
  • Oranges: YR12, YR04, YR18, E09
  • Blue Violets: BV0000, BV00, BV01, BV04

I then set these images aside to work on my card base. I first trimmed a piece of Smooth White Card Stock to 8.5″ x 3.5″ and then used the Ray of Light Stencil along with some Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon, Stormy Sky, and Chipped Sapphire) to create my background. To give the appearance of bubbles, I then splattered my ink blended panel generously with water using a clean #4 paintbrush.

I used the Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics with some more Smooth White Card Stock to create my sandy ocean floor. Once cut, I blended this piece with both Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy Distress Oxide Inks. I splattered this panel with water too as well as some diluted Opaque White Paint to give it some texture. I also added a few light brown dots using some warm brown Copic Markers. Lastly, I stamped my sentiment and added my images with 3D Foam Adhesive Tape for added interest.
