MFT Stamps | August Release Countdown – We’re Halfway There!

August 8, 2020

Hello friends! We’re halfway through the August Release Countdown from My Favorite Things! I have another slimline card to share with you today using the new Slimline Starter Die-namics. I combined this set with the new Happy Campers Stamp Set illustrated by Stacey Yacula to create a fun night-time camping scene.

To start my card, I first stamped my images with Black Ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I then used Copic Markers to color them and the coordinating Happy Campers Die-namics to cut them out.

Copic Color Combos Used:

  • Fox (red fur): YR02, YR04, YR09, E07, E09
  • Fox (light fur): E50, E53
  • Fire: Y11, Y17, RV14
  • Bunny: 0, C00, C0, C2, C4
  • Mouse: W00, W0, W2, W4
  • Owl: E40, E41, E42, E43, E44
  • Wood: E31, E23, E25, E29

Next, I cut a piece of Smooth White Card Stock to 8.5″ x 3.5″ and blended it halfway from the bottom with Distress Oxide Inks (Mustard Seed, Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough, Broken China, Peacock Feathers, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot) to resemble a starry night sky with the glow from a campfire. I splattered this in blending with both water and diluted Opaque White Paint to resemble stars. I then blended another strip of Smooth White Card Stock with both Hickory Smoke and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks for the bottom portion of my card and then heat embossed my sentiment with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder once the ink was dry.

When both of my background pieces were dry, I then diecut them with the stitched rectangular shaped Slimline Die and attached them together. I layered them with both a piece of White and Tropical Teal Prestige Card Stock. Lastly, I added my images with some 3D Foam Adhesive Tape for added dimension.

That slimline card is awesome and I love how it keeps the scene from looking crowded! Thanks for sharing your talent.

Thank you, April! I am so happy to now have a die to easily make them! And you’re right, it definitely allows you more real estate for more images without looking too crowded! 👍😊

Sorry I misspelled my own first name (should be Margarita) too quick to push that post comment button!

Adorable! Rachel, if you have any way to contact a blog hop administrator, I noticed a problem on Amy Yang’s site. I don’t have any way to communicate it to her, but I think a troll has invaded her site… is posting junk about going to a spell caster?? Ugh. Poor Amy. Anyway, your work is just precious and I love your scene! Well done. Please keep posting so that we can follow your work!

I just want to hug them all. Probably not the best thing to do in real life. LOL But so, so cute!
