MFT Stamps | August Release Countdown – Only Two Days To Go!

August 9, 2020

Hello friends! There are only two days left until the August Release from My Favorite Things becomes available! I absolutely love making slimline cards so I have greatly enjoyed using the new Slimline Starter Die-namics for this month’s release. However, my card today has a slight twist to it. The Slimline Starter Set comes with a few interactive components as well! So, for my card today, I have created a hidden double slider channel that allows my character/s to move!

Here’s a fun little clip that allows you to see what this animation looks like!

I could have made my image move in front of the haunted house but I thought it would look so cute seeing his face through the windows of the house as he passed by. HERE is an awesome video tutorial by my talented friend and DT Member Karolyn Loncon that shows you how to use the Double Slider Loop Slots that come with this set. Hers was done with the smaller set from a previous release, but the execution of this fun technique is the same.

All of my images from the new Boo Crew Stamp Set were stamped with Copic friendly ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, colored with Copic Markers, and diecut with the coordinating Boo Crew Die-namics.

Copic Color Combos Used:

  • Reds: R14, R27, R46, R89
  • Whites/Grays: 0, C00, C0, C2, C4
  • Oranges: YR02, YR04, YR07, YR18
  • Purples: BV000, BV01, BV02, BV04, BV08
  • Skin: E0000, E000, E21, E04
  • Black: W5, W7, W9

I created a vibrant red/orange background by first trimming a piece of Smooth White Card Stock to 8.5″ x 3.5″ and blending it with Distress Oxide Inks (Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon, Candied Apple, and Black Soot). Prior to blending, I diecut a piece of Gina K Designs Magic Masking Paper with the new A2 Circle Die-namics to create an area for a spooky-looking moon.

I diecut some grassy hills using the new Slimline Grassy Hills Die-namics and a haunted house & spooky tree with the Haunted House Die-namics from a piece of Black Licorice Cardstock. Lastly, I stamped some bats from the Ghostly Greetings Stamp Set and my sentiment from the Sassy Pants Spooktacular Stamp Set.
