Hello friends! It’s finally time to shop the August Release from My Favorite Things! I have one last project to share with you today featuring some of the amazing goodies from this new release. My card today features both the new Autumn Blessings Stamp Set along with the Lots of Leaves Cover-Up Die-namics.
I decided to create a fall shaker card using the gorgeous background die. To start, I first diecut my background die from Smooth White Card Stock. I then gently (and repeatedly) blended a mix of both Distress Oxide and Distress Inks to create what I hoped would look like a pile of multi-colored fall leaves. I first started with my Distress Oxide Inks. I used Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon, and Candied Apple. I then went back around some of the leaf edges and added some Squeezed Lemonade, Ripe Persimmon, and Fired Brick Distress Inks to add some areas of deeper color. Lastly, I then blended the outside frame of this cutout with some Ground Espresso Distress Ink to allow the inner leaves to really pop.
I then splattered this piece with water and blotted off the excess with a clean paper towel. Next, I spattered it again but this time I used a mix of diluted brown and gold watercolor inks along with some diluted Opaque White Paint for added texture. I set this piece aside to dry and then cut a piece of strong clear acetate to fit perfectly behind the frame of this leafy piece. I used a gorgeous sentiment from the Autumn Blessings Stamp Set and stamped it onto the center of the acetate using my MISTI and some black StazOn Ink for a nice crisp image.
Lastly, I used some skinny cuts of 3D Foam Adhesive Tape to provide room for my shaker embellishments and attached it all to a white 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ card base. I then added this entire piece to a brown A2 sized card base and voila!
