MFT Stamps – August Vault Release

August 18, 2020

Hello friends! The August Vault Release from My Favorite Things is now available! I have one last vault project to share with you today that features the amazing Party Like a Pirate Stamp Set illustrated by Birdie Brown.

I stamped all of my images with Copic friendly Black Ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, colored with Copic Markers, and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

For my background, I trimmed a piece of Smooth White Card Stock to 8.5″ x 3.5″ and masked off and area for my ocean. I then blended the ocean water using some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink. I splattered this area lightly with water to give it added texture and then blotted off the excess with a clean paper towel.

Next, once the ocean was dry, I then masked that area off to blend some Tumbled GLass Distress Oxide Ink for the sky. For some added interest, I added some diluted white and blue paint. Once this was all dry, I then used the large Stitched Slimline frame to cut this piece out.

I then fussy cut a beach area by hand and blended it with both Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide Inks before adhering it to my card base with liquid adhesive. Prior to attaching it, I used the small wave die-namic from the Otterly Love You Die-namics to diecut areas where both the island and the ship would look like they are actually in the water.

Lastly, I stamped my sentiment on the top left corner and then assembled my card together. I used 3D foam adhesive tape to add my images for some extra dimension.
