MFT Stamps | Color Challenge # 148

August 27, 2020

Hello friends! It’s time for a brand new Color Challenge from My Favorite Things! This week’s colors are Grout Gray, Steel Grey, Orange Zest, and Blueberry. You don’t have to use the exact colors shown but rather ones that the palette inspires you to use!

I combined the cute images from the Birdie Brown Sweater Weather in the Woods, and Sweater Weather on Safari Stamp Sets for my take on the challenge. I first stamped my images out onto a 8.5″ x 3.5″ piece of white card stock, overlapping my images to see where I wanted to place them in my final draft. I then used some Gina K Designs Magic Masking Paper to mask some of my images and used my rough draft template to follow the pattern of where I wanted to put everything. For my final card, I stamped everything onto an 8.5″ x 3.5″ piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock.

I then used Copic Markers to color everything.

Copic Color Combos Used:

  • Warm Browns (Moose, Bear, Giraffe): E40, E41, E42, E43, E44
  • Warm Grays (Elephant): W00, W0, W2, W4
  • Orange: YR02, YR07, YR18, E09
  • Dark Grays: W4, W6, W8
  • Cool Gray (cat): C00, C0, C2, C4
  • Blue Sweater on Cat: B60, B63, B69
  • Purple on Elephant and Owl: V01, V04, V09
  • Beaver and Owl: E31, E23, E25, E29

Lastly, I stamped my sentiment with black ink and then used a white gel pen to add snow dots all over the front of my card to give it more of a wintry look.

Come play along for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher! (Winner is chosen at random.) Stop by the MFT Blog for more challenge inspiration and the link to enter your project.

Love your card. So much work went into this one between the background design, the coloring and the masking. I was hearing noises of “mind-blown” in my head. LOL TFS.
