MFT Stamps & Pear Blossom Press | EZ-Lights Camping Card

August 28, 2020

Hello friends! MFT Stamps and Pear Blossom Press are collaborating together to show you some fun ideas on how to use the Pear Blossom Press EZ Lights. I have actually never made a light-up card until now! However, these lights are seriously super easy and so much fun to use. They come in different pack sizes and I will definitely be using my other lights in the near future!

I made a camping card today that features images from the new Stacey Yacula Happy Campers Stamp Set. You can see how cool these lights look lit up in the image above.

To start, I first stamped all of my images with Copic friendly Black Ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I then colored them with Copic Markers and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Next, I blended a background using a variety of MFT Premium Dye Inks. Once blended, I then splattered this piece with both water and diluted Opaque White Paint to resemble stars.

I then created a grass piece by diecutting a piece of Smooth White Card Stock with the Grassy Fields Die-namics and then blended it with Jellybean Green Premium Dye Ink.

Next, I lined up where I wanted to place each of my 3 lights. Each separate EZ-Light comes with 3 lights attached to one button, allowing you to have multiple options per switch. I decided to cut a hole (using small random dies and a paper punch) behind the area where I wanted my fire, the lantern, and the moon.

I then cut out three holes and lined them up with a piece of 4.25″ x 5.5″ card stock and traced the circles through the holes lightly with pencil. This is where I knew that I wanted to place each light.

Next, I used some tape (probably a lot more than I needed lol) to keep my wires and push button in place and placed the little bulbs right into the center of each penciled-hole that I had traced. I also lined up where I wanted to place the push button and then heat embossed the word “PRESS” using the Interactive Labels Stamp Set with some Fine Detail White Embossing Powder.

The final step before putting my card together was to add some 3D Foam Tape. I double-layered it to allow enough room for my button without creating a lump in my card.

I then adhered my card front to the foam tape and lastly added my images with some more 3D foam tape for some added dimension.

You did an outstanding job on this card. Looks like the lights are easy to use and that’s great to know. I am always SO impressed with your coloring skills. I can attest that just knowing your color combos doesn’t equate to what you create. Your skills require lots of practice. 🙂 I just love to ooooh and awwww over your beauties! Thanks for sharing, Rachel!
