MFT Stamps | September Release Countdown – Five Days to Go and Counting!

September 3, 2020

Hello friends! It’s time to start the countdown for the September Release from My Favorite Things! I am SO excited to share with you some of the new products that are debuting today! For the very first time, MFT is offering their very own box card! If you have been following my work, you know that I 1) love box cards and 2) love to cut the flaps off of them.

This box card is perfect because it has no flaps and it folds perfectly to fit into a standard A2-sized envelope for mailing! This box card is the same dimensions as the one that I’ve been making by hand but it takes the extra work away for you, making it SO easy to create fun 3D scenes.

For my card today, I used some adorable snowmen from the new Birdie Brown Present Time Stamp Set. I combined this set with the new Outside the Box Die-namics as well as the new Outside the Box Snow Drifts Die-namics. I can’t even begin to tell you how much time and measuring these two die sets now save me!

I stamped all of my images with Black Ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, colored them with Copic Markers, and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Copic Color Combos Used:

  • Reds: R14, R29, R59
  • Snowmen: 0, BV20, BV23
  • Aqua Blue: BG000, BG01, BG07
  • Purplish Blue: B60, B63, B66
  • Greens: G40, G43, G46

For my background, I blended some Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks onto a piece of Smooth White Card Stock and then splattered it with diluted Opaque White Paint to resemble snow. I also added some slight shading to my snow drifts after diecutting them from Smooth White Card Stock by adding some MFT Sno Cone Premium Dye Ink to the edges. Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder onto a strip of Black Licorice Card Stock and adhered it to the front of my card after trimming it with a paper trimmer.

All new products will be available this coming Tuesday, September 8th, at 10 AM EDT! Make sure to drop by the MFT Blog for more sneak peeks and inspiration! Don’t forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win a $75 MFT Gift Voucher!

Thank you so much for dropping by! If you liked this card and want some more crafty inspiration, please feel free to check out my INSTAGRAM feed!

    • rachelalvaradodesigns September 3, 2020 at 11:33 AM

Thank you so much, Shirley! 🥰 The box card dies actually made it super easy! The most tedious part was the coloring!

  • Emma Sleppy September 3, 2020 at 10:58 AM

Adorable. I was wondering if you were behind that new box die…

    • rachelalvaradodesigns September 3, 2020 at 11:35 AM

Lol, it was a team effort. More on their part than mine lol! But it’s the same measurements that I’ve been using and with the dies, I was able to create two box bases with grass and/or snow inserts in under 5 minutes! (And thank you for your sweet comments, my friend!) 🥰

Another great scene by Rachel via the pop up card method. I wish I had your talent in coloring. The reds are vibrant, the trees realistic, and the splatters a great special effect.
