Hello friends! For this month’s Birthday Project Challenge, it’s all about creating birthday cards for kids or the kids at heart. Come play along with us this month for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher!

For my take on the challenge, I created a fun low-profile birthday box card. I stamped some cute hippos from the Birdie Brown Happy Hippos Stamp Set onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, colored them with Copic Markers, and used the coordinating die-namics to cut them out.

Copic Color Combos Used:
- Teals: G00, BG11, BG13
- Pinks: RV00, RV52, RV55, RV66
- Yellows: Y11, Y13, Y15, V12
- Cool Gray Hippos: 0, C00, C0, C2, C4
- Warm Gray Hippos: W00, W0, W2, W4

I added some grass to my card using the new Outside the Box Grass Die-namics. I am seriously in love with the new Outside the Box shelves that are available for the new Outside the Box Die-namics Set. They work perfectly in this lower-style box card and save me SO much time. I used some patterned paper from the Summertime Polka Dots Paper Pad and stamped my sentiment onto the front panel layer (prior to adhering it to the front of my box) with black ink.

Hi Rachel You are the queen of those cute boxes! I want to make one!!! I really like the height of this one it’s shorter .Can I ask you the exactly size of the base? The height, the width and the length? The die of MFT is so expensive…I would like to try to make one by myself…A big wow again for your creations and thank you for your help!
