Hello friends! We’re kicking off the October Release Countdown from My Favorite Things with two new stamp sets from Birdie Brown! The first set that I wanted to share with you is the Holiday Penguins Stamp Set. I love how cute these little penguins are! I stamped all of my images onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, colored them with Copic Markers, and used the coordinating Die-namics to cut them out.

Copic Colors Used:
- Warm Grays: W00, W0, W2, W4
- Black: W5, W7, W9
- Reds: R14, R46, R89
- Blues: B000, B01, B04, B06
- Greens: YG01, YG07, YG17, YG67

For my background, I blended some Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks onto a piece of Smooth White Cardstock and splattered the blended area with both Opaque White Paint as well as diluted blue watercolor paint. I diecut a snowy drift from white card stock using the Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics and stamped my sentiment on the lower right corner with black ink.

For my next card, I used the new Virtually the Best Stamp Set combined with the Let’s Connect Die-namics. This set is perfect to create cards for all of those hard-working teachers that are doing their best to keep our children educated during these crazy times.

I first stamped my teacher and two students onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and then used the Let’s Connect Die-namics to cut them out inside the talk bubbles and computer screen. I then colored the images with Copic Markers before putting the rest of the computer together.
Copic Colors Used:
- Skin (Girl): E11, E13, E04
- Skin (Teacher & Boy): E0000, E000, E21, E04
- Hair (Girl): E35, E57, E29
- Hair (Teacher): E50, E53, E57
- Hair (Boy): E41, E42, E44
- Reds: R14, R46, R89
- Greens: YG01, YG06
- Browns: E31, E23, E25

Lastly, I lightly blended some Broken China and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks in the center of my card front, stamped my sentiment, and added my images with some 3D foam adhesive tape for added dimension.

Here’s another example of how you can used the Let’s Connect Die-namics. I simply drew two lines onto the screen, creating 4 areas for the students “attending” the class, stamped in their faces, and then colored them. For the teachers, I combined some coloring along with some paper piecing. I used some patterned paper (paper pads used shown in links below) to create some texture to 3 of the teacher’s outfits. I added some shading to these pieces with some warm gray (W00, W0, W2) Copic Markers to give them some added dimension.

Can I just say that I love how you showcased all the penguin images (and the tree)! I’m trying to figure out how you got all the images to stand. (Hmmm…) I also like the patterns on the teachers’ clothing? Was it patterned paper or simply drawn on? That detail really kicks those images up a notch. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, Frances! I used patterned paper for the teacher’s clothing. I updated my blog so you can see which paper packs I used in case you were interested. Have a lovely day! 🤗
