Hello friends! It’s time for a new sketch challenge from My Favorite Things! For this week’s sketch, I used the new Warm Hugs and Frosty Kisses Stamp Set. Instead of following the sketch exactly, I rotated it and used my 3 images instead of the shapes shown in the picture below.

To start, I masked off an area to create my “ice”. I then blended this area with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink. I then removed my masking sheets and then lightly blended some more Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink from the top of my card downward, fading out so that I could leave a small white space between the “ice” and the sky.

I then set this piece aside and stamped my images onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I colored them with Copic Markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.
Copic Color Combos Used:
- Reds: R14, R46, R89
- Browns: E41, E42, E43
- White: 0, C00, C0, C2, C4
- Greens: YG03, YG06, YG17
- Blues: BG70, BG72, BG75
- Black: W5, W7

Next, I stamped my sentiment on the top left hand corner with black ink and added my images with 3D Foam Adhesive Tape for added dimension. Lastly, I added some snow using a white gel pen.

You are teaching the value of white space. Light and airy card.
Thank you for your sweet comments, dear Lynn!
Fantastic card, Rachel. Your coloring is fabulous, love that little bitty penguin there, especially. These critters have so much personality! Your card design using your twist on the sketch is wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing! 🙂
Thank you kindly, dear Jeanne! I love the little penguin too! 🙂
Adorable scene! So clever to turn the strip from the sketch into a frozen pond!
Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring!
