Hello friends! Today starts a brand new sketch challenge from My Favorite Things! Come play along for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher! (Winner is chosen at random.)

Sometimes I like to use non-traditional colors when it comes to winter/Christmas cards. For my card today, I went with a purplish/pink background to go with my sweet images from the Birdie Brown Snow Buddies Stamp Set. I first stamped my images with black ink onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used some Masking Magic Sheets from Gina K Designs to both mask my images as well as the section that I wanted to blend the ink for my background.

For my background, I used a blend of Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, and Milled Lavender Distress Oxide Inks. After blending, I splattered this area lightly with water and then blotted it dry with a paper towel. I then splattered it again with diluted opaque white and purple paints. Next, I removed my masking paper and set the entire panel aside to dry.

Once dry, I then colored my images with Copic Markers.
Copic Color Combos Used:
- Purples: V01, V04, V17, V09
- Blues: B000, B02, B05
- Pinks: RV00, RV52, RV55, RV66
- Skin: E0000, E000, E21, E13

Here’s a look at this week’s sketch layout. You can flip, rotate, and/or replace the shapes for images. The goal is to just relax and have fun with it!
