MFT Stamps | November Birthday Project Challenge

November 19, 2020

Hello friends! For this month’s Birthday Project Challenge, it’s all about creating birthday shaker cards. I used images from the “Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes” Stamp Set illustrated by Stacey Yacula for my take on the challenge. I also added a party banner from the SY “Pawty Time” Stamp Set and a cute little bunny from the SY “Hooray Kind of Day” Set.

To start, I first cut a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock to 3.5″ x 8.5″. Next, I stamped my images where I wanted to place them and then used some Gina K. Masking Magic Sheets to cover each image after I stamped them again and fussy cut each one. I then masked off a floor area for my card and blended it with some Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink.

Once dry, I then masked off an area for the background of my card and then blended it with Spun Sugar, Tattered Rose, and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Inks. Next, I lightly splattered the top portion of my card with diluted white and pink paints.

I removed all the masks and then set my card aside to dry. Once completely dry, I then colored all of my images with Copic Sketch Markers.

Copic Color Combos Used:

  • Gray Bunny: W00, W0, W2, W4
  • Brown Bunny: E40, E41, E41, E42, E43
  • Penguin: W5, W7, W9
  • Teals: G000, BG11, BG13, BG49
  • Greens: YG21, YG23, YG17, YG67
  • Fox: Y35, YR02, YR07, YR18

To create my frame for my shaker card, I trimmed another piece of white card stock to 3.5″ x 8.5″ and then diecut out the center of it with one of the dies from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics Set 1. I then added a piece of clear acetate to the back of it and used 3D Foam Adhesive Tape on my card base to create some area for my shaker embellishments.
