Waffle Flower | Cookie Time Slimline Card

December 1, 2020

Hello crafty friends! I have one last card to share with you featuring one of the stencils from Waffle Flower Stamps & Dies. For my card today, I used the Spotlight Square Stencil combined with the Cookie Time Stamp Set Combo.

To start, I cut a piece of smooth white cardstock to 3.5″ X 8.5″ and blended three squares onto the front using the Spotlight Square Stencil and some Distress Oxide Inks (Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough, Lucky Clover, and Black Soot.). I started blending with the darker colors on the outer edges of each square and worked my way toward the center using my lightest color. I then masked off any white areas on my card and splattered each square with both diluted white and green paints.

Next, I stamped my sentiment from the Spotlight Holiday Elements Stamp Set on the top portion of my card with black ink. I then set this piece aside and stamped my images from the Cookie Time Stamp Set onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I colored them all with Copic Sketch Markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Copic Color Combos Used:

  • Skin: E000, E21, E04
  • Reds: R14, R46, R89
  • Greens: G000, G02, G05, G09
  • Browns: E30, E31, E23, E25
  • Stove: W00, W0, W2, W4, W6

Lastly, I layered my card with a 3.75″ x 8.75″ base cut from red card stock. I actually had cut my base to 7.5″ x 8.75″ and scored it at 3.75″ to create a folded base for writing my message on the inside of my card. This will fit perfectly into a standard business or #10 sized envelope for mailing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by! If you liked this card and want some more crafty inspiration, please feel free to check out my INSTAGRAM feed!

Golly, I cannot help but grin when I see this card. It is so full of fun and whimsy. The stencil is an awesome idea for the slimline card. The turquoise and red work so well together and those kiddos…so full of personality. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
