Hello friends! It’s time for the latest Color Challenge from My Favorite Things!

Come play along for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher! One lucky winner will be chosen at random. You don’t have to use the exact colors shown in the palette above but rather ones that these colors inspire you to use!

I have been enjoying creating single layer cards of late and I had fun creating this one as well! This was a bit more time consuming than the others since it involved a few layers of masking but I love the outcome. To start, I first took a 4.5″ x 5.75″ piece of scrap paper and stamped out my scene, making changes and re-stamping images as I went until I got what I was looking for.

I then laid this piece on top of the same size piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock in my MISTI and layed my images one by one exactly where I wanted them on my scrap piece, attached the stamp to my MISTI, and then stamped the actual image onto my final project. I started with the images that would be in front of everything first, masked them (using some Gina K Designs Masking Magic Sheets), and then stamped any images that would look to be behind items. I love how masking helps create depth without actually having any.

Once all of my images were masked, I then masked off an area for the floor and blended some Distress Oxide Inks for my background. I used Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, and Tattered Rose. Once blended, (with masks still intact), I then splattered some opaque white and red paints using a round #4 brush for added interest. I then removed my masking sheets and allowed my panel to completely dry before coloring.

Next, I trimmed my piece down to 4″ x 5.25″ and layered it with both some white and red pieces of cardstock. I then used Copic Markers to color everything.
Copic Color Combos Used:
- Pinks: RV00, RV52, RV55, RV66
