Hello crafty friends! It’s time for one of my favorite challenges of the month! This month’s theme for the Outside the Box Challenge is LOVE. I initially thought of creating a red or pink Valentine’s themed card but I decided to change things up and go with more nontraditional colors.
To start my card, I first used the Outside the Box Die-namics along with some white card stock to make my card base. I next used the Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle Die-namics to cut a window in the center of my front panel. I adhered my card base together with some liquid adhesive and added 3 out of 4 sets waves using the Outside the Box Waves Die-namics. I also used one of the Ocean Wave Die-namics to create my own front-wave insert that stretched the entire front of my card base behind my windows. This was so that it looked like you were looking into a full panel of water instead of only half a panel like the pre-made inserts have.
All of my wave panels were cut from Neenah Smooth White 110lb Card Stock and blended with Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. I also added some greenery from the same card stock using the Fab Foliage Die-namics. I used some green Copic Markers (listed below) to color these pieces. My background sky was lightly blended with some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink.
All of my images from the BB Utterly Love You Stamp Set were stamped onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, colored with Copic Markers, and cut out using the coordinating dies.
Copic Color Blends Used:
- Otter on back left and front right: E31, E23, E25, E29
- Otter on front left: E40, E41, E42, E43, E44
- Hearts: RV02, RV63, RV55, RV66
- Green Foliage: YG01, YG06, YG17
