MFT Stamps | Wednesday Sketch Challenge #527

February 3, 2021

Hello crafty friends! It’s time for the latest Sketch Challenge from My Favorite Things! Come play along for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher! One winner will be chosen at random.

I created a single layer card using images from the BB Mermazing and Best Fins Stamp Set. I used a piece of Gina K Designs Masking Magic Sheets to mask my images so that I could blend my background with Distress Inks. I used the Ray of Light Stencil and blended Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot Distress Inks. I then removed the stencil and blended the rest of the background with the same colors but added some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink first.

I splattered the background lightly with water and patted the excess dry with a paper towel. Next, I removed my masking pieces and then blended the bottom portion of my card with Antique Linen and Brush Corduroy Distress Oxide Inks. I then allowed my card to dry before coloring my image with Copic Markers.

Copic Color Blends Used:

  • Skin: E0000, E000, E21, E04
  • Teal: G000, BG11, BG13, BG49
  • Reds: R14, R46, R89
  • Greens: YG01, YG07, YG17, YG67
  • Gray: W00, W0, W2, W4
  • Orange: YR00, YR04, YR07, E09
  • Hair: E50, E53, E55, E57
