Hello friends! Welcome to a brand new sketch challenge from My Favorite Things! Come have some fun and play along for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher!

For my take on the sketch, I stamped the cute little penguin from the SY Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes Stamp Set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I then colored it with Copic Markers and used the coordinating die-namics to cut him out.

For the base of my card, I trimmed a piece of patterned paper from the Poppin’ Polka Dots Paper Pad to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and adhered it onto a vertical A2 top-folding card base. Next, I cut some layers with my paper trimmer as well as die cutting a layer from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics.

For the circular portion of my card, I blended some Wilted Violet, Milled Lavender, and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Inks onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I then splattered it lightly with water and diecut it with one of the A2 Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics. Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black Licorice Card Stock and diecut it with the Essential Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-namics.

Great image and background for filling in the sketch.
Thank you so very much!
Wonderful card, Rachel. I really like the wider border with the background paper. Those polka dots are so fun. It helps draw your eye to the focal image. I also like how you used layers to draw the eye to the adorable image. Your coloring is fantastic. Great card design! Thanks so much for sharing. 🙂
Thank you for your lovely comments, dear Jeanne! 💕
