Hello friends! The May Release from My Favorite Things is now available! Head on over to the MFT Boutique online to browse all of the amazing new products!

I have two more projects to share with you today featuring items from this month’s release. For my first card, I created a fun one-layered slimline card featuring the new “Travel Plans” Stamp Set illustrated by Stacey Yacula.

To start my card, I first stamped my images in layered steps (using some Gina K. Designs Masking Magic Sheets) onto a 3.5″ x 8.5″ piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I know that I have mentioned it before on prior posts, but if you’re new to my blog, the first thing that I do when creating a one-layered card with masking is to create a rough draft. This is where I quickly stamp my images onto another piece of same-sized card stock (usually just a basic piece of white card stock so that I can save my good paper for my actual project) without any masking so that I can see exactly where I want to place everything. I then use this draft as a template on where I want to line up my images on my actual card. To do this precisely, I used my MISTI (which I absolutely LOVE).

Once I had all of my images masked and stamped, I lightly blended my background area with Milled Lavender, Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar, and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks. I lightly splattered this background with both diluted opaque white and purple paints for added interest. I then removed my masking pieces and allowed my background to dry prior to coloring my images with Copic Markers.
Copic Colors Used:
- Fox: E00, E11, E15, E09
- Mice: W00, W1, W3
- Bear: E31, E23, E25, E29
- Bunny: C00, C1, C3, C5
- Bear’s Hat & Coat: B60, B63, B66, B69
- Pinks: RV91, RV93, RV95
- Greens: G40, G43, G46
- Dark Grays: W4, W6, W8

For my second card, I created a fun A2 sized card featuring one of the characters from the new “Festive Old Friends” Stamp Set combined with the new Stepladder Die-namics. I trimmed a piece of Neenah Solar White Card Stock to 4″ x 5.25″ and lightly blended an area on the background with Tropical Teal Premium Dye Ink. I then stamped my sentiment and adhered this piece to a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Tropical Teal Prestige Card Stock. Lastly, I adhered my stepladder with liquid adhesive and then my image with some 3D Foam Adhesive Tape for added dimension.
Copic Colors Used:
- Blues: B0000, B00, B02, B04
- Shirt & Pants: 0, W00, W1, W3
- Balloon: RV02, RV55, RV63, RV66
- Skin: E0000, E000, E11, E04
- Hair: W3, W5
