Hello crafty friends! Welcome to a brand new Slimline Challenge from My Favorite Things! This month is all about creating slimline cards with an added gift card! You can coordinate your card to match the gift card or simply add a slot to place your gift card inside the card. The sky’s the limit!

For my card today, I created a slimline card featuring the fun BB Unicorns and Glitter Stamp Set. I coordinated the colors of my card with the color of my gift card. I didn’t have a gift card lying around when I decided to join in on the challenge. So, since I shop on Amazon all the time (which I’m guessing that a lot of you do as well), I perused the gift cards available on the Amazon website (there’s so many!), chose a color and style that I liked, and then ended up purchasing one.

I stamped all of my images onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored them with Copic Markers (colors listed below), and used the coordinating die-namics to cut them out. For my card base, I actually went with a slightly larger sized slimline card than I normally use. I trimmed two pieces of white card stock (one Neenah Solar White 110lb and the other regular white card stock) to 4″ x 9″. I blended a mix of Distress Oxide Inks (Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Milled Lavender, and Kitsch Flamingo) onto the piece of Neenah card stock, splattered it lightly with water using a clean size 4 round paint brush, and then blotted it dry with a clean paper towel after letting the water sit for about 30 seconds. Next, I splattered this area again but this time with diluted Opaque White Paint as well as diluted Wilted Violet Distress Ink.

Once this piece was dry, I then trimmed it down to 3.75″ x 8.75″ to get rid of any harsh ink stains that sometimes appear on the sides of the cardstock when ink blending. Next, I cut out a window in the center of my card using the Gift Card Window & Frames Die-namics. I added both a frame diecut from white card stock as well as a Gift Card Pouch in which to place my gift card. Once my gift card was in place, I adhered a small strip of card stock to the back in order to hold it into place as I adhered the entire piece to my 4″ x 9″ white card base. Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment (from the Bitty Birthday Wishes Stamp Set) with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder, diecut it with the newly released Slimline Skinny Strips Die-namics and added my images with 3D Foam Adhesive Tape for added dimension. Super easy and so much fun to make!

What a fun slimline card. I think it’s great that you color coordinated the gift card to your card. I’ve never seen a gift card that color! Your choice of images is very fun and your coloring impeccable as always. Well done!
Thank you, Jeanne! I had to intentionally search for a pink one on Amazon lol. I hope you have a wonderful Friday! 🤗❤️
Rachel want a fun idea… my granddaughter is turning 10 in August and I was so surprised that an Amazon card was on her wish list!! I guess they start earlier all the time. I remember when we had such fun circling items in the Sears catalog for our birthdays and the Christmas catalog was so great. We are definitely moving into a new era. Love this stamp set and your coloring is always such eye candy. Thanks for sharing this awesome idea!!
Thank you so much for your sweet comments, Anne! I agree! Most of my nieces and nephews want gift cards now too lol.
