Hello friends! The MFT June Vault Release is now open! There are 14 stamps sets, all illustrated by Birdie Brown, that are being re-released!
I have a fun one-layer card to share with you today featuring the BB Up in the Air Stamp Set. I went with a colorful background to really make this card pop. To start, I first trimmed a piece of regular white card stock to slightly larger than 4.25″ x 5.5″. I then quickly stamped my images where I wanted them to go, overlapping them and re-stamping anything that I wanted to put in a different place. This rough draft (template) is pretty messy but I used it to help line up my images for my actual card. To do this, I then cut a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock to the same size and then lined up my stamps one by one using my template and my MISTI.
I stamped my images in order from what appears in the foreground to images that appear behind the others. I masked each image as I went so that I could get some dimension while still sticking with one layer. Once finished, I masked any image that I had not needed to mask while stamping and then blended my background with a blend of Distress Oxide Inks. I just threw color here and there, trying to get a nice gradient between the colors. For this I used Milled Lavender, Wilted Violet, Salvaged Patina, Cracked Pistachio, and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Inks. I then splattered this background with some diluted opaque white paint and diluted Wilted Violet Distress Ink for added interest.
Once by background was dry, I then trimmed this piece down to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and adhered it to a 4.25″ x 5.5″ top folding A2 sized card base. I then stamped my sentiment and colored my images with Copic Markers.
