Hello friends! It’s time for a brand new color challenge! The colors for this challenge are Chantilly Cream, Candied Yam, Butterscotch, and Vintage Timber. You don’t need to use the exact colors shown but rather ones that these colors inspire you to use!

I thought these colors were perfect for fall and I created a simple card featuring one of the squirrels from the BB Squirrel! Stamp Set combined with the Watercolor Wash Free Form Stencil.

I stamped my images onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and colored them with Copic Markers (colors listed at the bottom of this post). Next, I used the coordinating Squirrel! Die-namics to cut them out. I then set them aside to work on my background.

For my card base, I trimmed a piece of Smooth White Card Stock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and then blended some MFT Premium Dye Inks (Butterscotch, Candied Yam, and Vintage Timber) onto this base piece while using the fun Watercolor Wash Free Form Stencil. With the stencil still in place, I splattered some diluted opaque white paint on top of my ink blended portion while leaving my stencil in place.

I removed my stencil and let my panel dry completely before stamping my sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Lastly, I added my images with 3D Foam Adhesive Tape for extra dimension.
Copic Colors Used:
- Squirrel: E41, E42, E43, E44, E47
- Acorns & Tree Limb: E31, E23, E25, E29
- Leaves: YR04, Y15, Y13, Y11

This card has a wonderful background with a unique shape and beautiful fall colors that help showcase the adorable images very well. The squirrel and his bounty are colored wonderfully. Excellent work, Rachel! 🙂
Oh how fun….I just got that freeform watercolor stencil in my latest order. I love how this blended and now I have an idea forming in my head. I’m thinking a winter something. Love that sweet squirrel, I know mine have been hoarding the nuts from my walnut tree. That’s a sign of a heavy winter…EEK! Love this and TFS
