Hello friends! I am thrilled to be co-hosting this week’s card challenge from Waffle Flower Crafts! The theme for this month is all about creating winter birthday cards. For challenge 2112, we want you to create a birthday card using only blue and white colors!
For my take on the challenge, I created a fun A2 sized box card from scratch. To do this, I used a piece of white card stock, my Tim Holtz paper trimmer, some adhesive, and a pair of sharp craft scissors for a precise cut. I diecut some stitched snowy hills from white card stock using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders Dies.
Next, I stamped some adorable hamsters and balloons from the Waffle Flower Winter Hamsters, Hamster Family, and Limo Ride Stamp Sets onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To do this, I used my MISTI along with some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink so that I could get a nice crisp image to color. I used Copic Markers to color my images and the coordinating die sets to cut them out.
I layered the side panels of my card with some Spellbinders Cosmic Sky Card Stock as well as some gorgeous Sunny Studio Classic Gingham Patterned Paper. For my background sky, I blended some Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks and splattered this blending with both water and Opaque White Ink.
Copic Colors Used:
- Dark Blue: B60, B63, B66, B69
- Medium Blue: B21, B26, B39
- Teals: BG10, BG11, BG13, BG18
- Warm Grays: W00, W1, W3, W5
- Cool Grays: 0, C00, C1, C3
