Hello crafty friends! I first want to wish each and every one of you a safe, blessed, and very Merry Christmas! I hope you all are doing well and are able to enjoy the holidays this year!
I have one last Christmas-themed card to share with you today. Do you ever have an idea in mind but don’t have the exact images or products to create what you want? I wanted to make my dad a cow-themed Christmas card this year but didn’t have a stamp set that contained both themes. So, I decided to make my own by combining a few different stamp sets from Whimsy Stamps!
I created a one-layered card using some Gina K. Designs Masking Magic Sheets along with the adorable “Cow Friends” Stamp Set from Whimsy Stamps. I added some Christmas hats (by stamping them first) from the Whimsy Stamps “Christmas Tidings” Stamp Set. To do this, I first stamped a draft of my card onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of white scrap paper. I then used my MISTI as well as my rough draft to line up the images on my final project. I was able to stamp only the hats from the sea creatures by using some masking tape. I then fussy cut the hats from some masking paper and was able to mask the hats when I stamped my cows. This allowed it to appear like the cows were wearing the Christmas hats!
I also masked my cows as well as the snowy ground and then blended my background with some Ranger Ink Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink. Next, I splattered some “snow” using diluted white acrylic paint and a basic size 4 round paint brush. Once dry, I removed my masking pieces and then colored my images with Copic Markers. Once finished, I used some Sakura White Gelly Roll Pens to add some snow on top of my cows. Lastly, I stamped my simple sentiment from the Whimsy Stamps “Cow Party” Stamp Set. The best part is that these cow stamp sets can be used all year round!
