MFT Stamps | January Release Countdown – Four Days and Counting!

January 7, 2022

Hello friends! I have two fun interactive cards to share with you today that feature both the new Castle Drawbridge Die-namics along with the new Knight in Shining Armor Stamp Set. This interactive die-set is fairly simple to use and a lot of fun to play with!

Check out my YouTube Video HERE on how to assemble this card!

For my first card, I created a vertical A2 sized card. I first die-cut my castle wall two times. The first one I cut from a piece of Cement Grey Card Stock and the second piece from some Vintage Timber Card Stock. The reason I did this is because I wanted my drawbridge door to resemble a wooden door. This step isn’t necessary, but I love adding some contrast between the two pieces. In order to add some more contrast, I also went over the embossed lines on both the castle wall and the door with some Copic Markers. This simply adds a little more depth and shadow to the embossed lines that appear when you diecut.

Copic Colors Used:

  • Castle Wall: T0, T1, T3
  • Castle Door: E43, E44, E47
  • Teals: G000, BG11, BG13, BG18
  • Reds: R05, R35, R39
  • Armor: 0, C00, C1, C3, C5

I lightly blended some Summer Splash Premium Dye Ink for my background sky onto a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered my castle wall to my base with 3D Foam Adhesive tape, being careful not to put any adhesive on the back of my drawbridge door. I used some Silver Shine Card Stock for both my chains and metal door knocker but you can use whatever card stock you want. Once you’re finished, the drawbridge opens and shuts easily and is so much fun!

I used the same products for my second card but made this one a box card instead. This card does fold flat for shipping and fits easily into a 5×7 envelope. I added some strips of grass across the base of my card that I had cut from some Prickly Pear Card Stock.

I used Cement Grey Card Stock again for my castle wall and card base and a piece of Kraft Card Stock for my door.
