Hello crafty friends! It’s time for a brand new Sketch Challenge! Come play along with MFT Stamps Sketch Challenge 579 for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher! Take a look at the current sketch below. You don’t have to follow the sketch exactly, but can flip/rotate the layout and/or substitute the shapes for images. The goal is to be creative and have fun!
For my take on the sketch, I used some adorable images from the new TI “Sweet Honey Bee Stamp Set”. I stamped my images onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, colored them with Copic Markers, and used the coordinating “Sweet Honey Bee” Die-namics to cut them out. I paired this set with the Hexagon Pops Die-namics.
Copic Colors Used:
- Skin: E0000, E000, E11, E13, E04
- Yellows: Y13, YR21, YR23, V15
- Black: W4, W6, W8, B100
- Hair: E41, E43, E44, E47
To create my hexagon background, I trimmed a piece of Smooth White Card Stock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and then diecut my hexagon strip along the left side. I then diecut a 5.5″ x 2.25″ strip of Black Licorice Card Stock and diecut this strip as well. Next, I adhered the black hexagon strip behind my front card base (slightly offset) to show a faux shadow of the shapes. Lastly, I blended a strip of Distress Ink (Squeezed Lemonade, Scattered Straw, and Wild Honey) on a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Neenah Solar White Card Stock and adhered this behind my front piece with the hexagon cutouts. Lastly, I stamped my sentiment and then added my images with some 3D Foam Adhesive Tape for a pop of dimension.
