Hello friends! I have a birthday slimline card (sized at 3.5″ x 8.5″) to share with you today that I created for the latest MFT Slimline Challenge. The theme for this month is Birthday Celebrations and the goal is to create a birthday-themed slimline card!

For my card today, I used a bunch of gorgeous stamp sets illustrated by Stacey Yacula. You can find links to all of these sets at the bottom of this post. I created a one-layer card my masking my images (using a Gina K Designs Masking Magic Sheet) while I stamped. I love using this technique because I can slightly alter my images to the way I want them to look to make them fit in with the theme of my card. For this card, I added birthday hats to some of the creatures as well as balloons to make it look like certain characters were involved in this fun little penguin party going on.

I first created a rough draft on a basic piece of white card stock and then used my MISTI to stamp my final draft onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of my images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic Markers.

For my background sky, I blended it with a mix of Salvaged Patina, Kitsch Flamingo, and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks while my masking pieces were still in place.

• Penguins: W00, W1, W3, W5, W7, W9
• Pinks: RV00, RV02, RV06, RV66
• Teals: G000, G00, BG23, BG49
• Purples: V000, V01, V06, V17, V09
