MFT Stamps | March Release Countdown – We’re Halfway There!

March 5, 2022

Hello friends! We are halfway through the MFT March Release Countdown! I have two projects to share with you today that feature a couple of brand new stamp sets.

My first card features the brand new “Over the Rainbow” Stamp Set illustrated by Rachelle Anne Miller. I combined this set with the new MSTN Pretty in Plaid Patterned Paper for a simple but colorful design. I added a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of the patterned paper to my A2 sized card base and layered it with both some Summer Splash and Smooth White Card Stock. I used one of the A2 Doubled Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics to cut my white card stock and lightly blended it with some Sno Cone Premium Dye Ink.

I used Copic Markers to color my images that I had stamped onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Once done, I used the coordinating Over the Rainbow Die-namics.

Copic Colors Used:

  • Cats: 0, C00, C1, C3, C5
  • Clouds: B0000, B00, B02
  • Pinks: RV00, RV63, RV66
  • Yellows: Y13, Y17, V12
  • Teals: G000, BG11, BG13
  • Purples: BV000, BV01, BV11

For my second project, I created a fun little A2 sized box card featuring both the new MSTN Floral Whimsy and MSTN Sending Sunshine and Smiles Stamp Sets. To create my box card base, I used the Outside the Box Die-namics with some Smooth White Card Stock. I layered it with some Summer Splash Card Stock as well as some more of the gorgeous new MSTN Pretty in Plaid Patterned Paper.

I added some grass using the Outside the Box Grassy Hills Die-namics along with a piece of Sour Apple Card Stock. Once my hills were cut, I lightly blended the grassy tips of each hill with some Sour Apple Premium Dye Ink and then splattered them quickly with some diluted acrylic white paint for added texture and interest.

I stamped and colored my images in the same way as listed in my previous card and used the Floral Whimsy and Sending Sunshine and Smiles Die-namics.

Copic Colors Used:

  • Birds: B000, B00, B01, B04
  • Greens: YG01, YG06, YG17, YG67
  • Yellows: Y11, Y13, Y15, V12
  • Pinks: RV00, RV63, RV55, RV66
  • Teals: G000, BG11, BG13
  • Purples: BV000, BV01, BV11

So many adorable images on one post! The kitties are so sweet. You’ve created a wonderful little rainbow scene and I like how you matted the background with the blue first. Really nice detail. The box card is simply delightful. So many fun images and wonderful coloring of the cute critters and flowers. I always appreciate the Copic color chart you share. A bit of purple on the sun? I doublechecked that and it really looks great. Thanks for sharing. Crafty hugs!

Yes! I learned that from Amy Shulke and it seems to shade better than using browns on yellow (which is what I used to do). I find that (for me) yellows and pinks are the most difficult to shade.

Adorable both … love the birds and sunshine. All a great recipe for Springtime!
