Hello friends! There is still time to play along with MFT Stamps Color Challenge #185 for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher! You can enter as many times as you like! One lucky winner will be chosen at random.
The colors for challenge #185 are Caribbean Sea, Grapesicle, Grape Jelly, and Gravel Gray. You don’t need to use these exact colors but rather colors that these ones inspire you to use. Feel free to incorporate neural colors (black, white, or Kraft) but try to incorporate all four of the colors shown above.
For my take on the challenge, I created a birthday-themed card using some adorable images (some of my absolute favorite) from the SY Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes Stamp Set. I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink to stamp my images onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, colored them with Copic Sketch Markers. Next, I used the coordinating Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes Die-namics to cut them out.
For my background, I trimmed a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and blended with MFT Grape Jelly, Grapesicle, and Caribbean Sea Premium Dye Inks, working from top to bottom in that order. I then lightly splattered this area with some water and blotted dry any excess with a clean paper towel. Once done, I splattered this area again with some diluted white acrylic paint and diluted purple watercolor paint for added interest.
Once dry, I trimmed this piece down to 3.75″ x 5″ and adhered it to a 4.25″ x 5.5″ Smooth White card base. Next, I die cut a stitched rectangle frame from more Smooth White Card Stock using the Stitched Rectangle Frame Die-namics and glued it to my card. I stamped my sentiment and then added my images with 3D Foam Adhesive Tape for a pop of dimension.
