Hello friends! I am so excited to introduce to you the Beach Day Card Kit from My Favorite Things! If you’ve followed my work over the years, you will know how much I love making beach-themed cards. This kit has so many cute elements to it!

You can take a look above to see what all is included in this gorgeous kit. For my card today, I used the card stock from the kit (plus a piece or two from colors that are not included – Field Day and Caribbean Sea) as well as the Shady Palm Die-namics and Life’s a Beach Sentiment Set. In addition, I used the sweet Sandcastle Builder and Sand and Surf Die-namics, which are fun add-ons to the kit.

To create my card, I first worked on the base and background. For my base, I trimmed a piece of Kraft Card Stock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and adhered it to a top-folding A2 sized card base. I layered this piece with some Smooth White Card Stock that I diecut using one of the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics Set 2. Next, I lightly blended some Summer Splash Premium Dye Ink onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock for my sky and splattered it lightly with water using a size 4 round paint brush.

I then trimmed this piece with the next smallest A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics and adhered it on top of the larger white card stock layer. For my water, I used the Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics to cut some Caribbean Sea Card Stock and then die cut it again using the same A2 Stitched Rectangle Die-namics that I had used to cut my sky background piece. I did this so that the stitching would line up perfectly along the edges.

Next, (for my sand dunes) I diecut 2 panels of Neenah Solar White Card Stock 110lb using both the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics Set 2 as well as the new Sand and Surf Die-namics. I blended each panel with some Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide Inks and then splattered them both with water to give them texture. Once they were dry, I added some more texture with some brown Copic Markers. I then stamped my sentiment and added my sand dunes to my card with 3D Foam Adhesive Tape.

I used both Kraft and Milk Chocolate Card Stock to create my sandcastle as well as some foam tape to add dimension. I adhered it to my card base with more foam adhesive tape and then added a few accessories (bucket, shovel, and starfish) that come with the Sandcastle Builder Die-namics. Lastly, I added a palm tree that I had cut using the Shady Palm Die-namics.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by! If you liked this card and want some more crafty inspiration, please feel free to check out my INSTAGRAM feed!
