Hello friends! Today is the last day to get 25% OFF on almost all rubber stamps from Purple Onion Designs!
My card today features some adorable images from the new “A Special Day” Collection illustrated by Stacey Yacula.

If you’ve never used rubber stamps, they’re actually pretty easy to use. I use mine with my MISTI which makes things even easier. Most of these stamps are sold unmounted, so you will need a clear mounting stamp (if you already don’t have one, 2 options can be found HERE) in order to easily stamp the rubber stamp onto your card stock. I like to stamp my images onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I find that this combo works amazingly well when coloring with alcohol markers (I use Copic).

Once my images were stamped onto my paper, I colored them with Copic Markers. If you don’t have a type of scan and cut machine (I use an older model of the Brother Scan n Cut) you can fussy cut your images with a pair of sharp scissors or just stamp them onto your card stock and color them as a single-layer card. The quality of these rubber stamps is extremely crisp and clear and I find that I usually don’t have to re-stamp them as I sometimes do with clear stamp sets.
I created my box card from scratch and simply used one 8.5″ x 11″ piece of pink card stock, a paper trimmer, scissors, glue, and a scoring board to put it all together. When upright, my card measures at 4.75″ across, 4.75″ tall, and 2″ wide. When folded flat, my card measures at 6.75″ (l) x 4.75″ (h) and fits perfectly into a standard 5×7 envelope.

Products Used:

- Dylan (Party bear holding cake)
- Cecil (Party turtle with balloons)
- Buffet Party Table

For my grass, I die cut it using the Sunny Studio Stamps Slimline Nature Border Die Set from some smooth white card stock and blended each piece with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink. For my background sky, I used Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink.
I hope you enjoyed my card today! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by! If you liked this card and want some more crafty inspiration, please feel free to check out my INSTAGRAM feed!

Absolutely, positively delightful card. I don’t use red rubber stamps much at all anymore. When I started stamping, I did use them and remember liking how crisp the images stamped. But, I didn’t like that I couldn’t see where I was stamping. I had issues with placement when stamping let’s just say. 😉 Thanks for sharing, Rachel. I hope you have a fantastic week!
I love red rubber stamps. I actually have a few and have enjoyed using them. Your box cards are a favorite of mine, as you already know. The characters by Stacey always have such sweet faces. This is a perfect birthday celebration and I love the way you colored it. TFS
