Hello crafty friends! It’s time for a brand new sketch challenge from MFT Stamps! I created a super simple card today that would be easy for all card makers to re-create. I used a cute little skunk from the SY Sweet Skunks Stamp Set along with some patterned paper from the Black & White Plaid Paper Pad.
Here’s a look at this week’s sketch layout. You don’t have to follow the sketch layout exactly but can rotate or flip the layout and/or replace the shapes with images. I flipped my sketch layout today so that the orientation was on the left side, instead of the right.
I used a piece of Black Licorice Card Stock to create an A2 sized card base measuring at 4.25″ x 5.5″. I then layered it with a white stitched rectangular piece that I had die cut using the A2 Stitched Rectangle Die-namics Set 2 with a piece of Smooth White Card Stock.
Next, I added some strips of Black Licorice Card Stock that I had layered with one of the pieces of plaid patterned paper.
- Large Black Strip: 2 1/4″ x 3 3/8″
- Small Black Strip: 2 1/4″ x 1 1/4″
- Large Plaid Strip: 2″ x 3 1/8″
- Small Plaid Strip: 2″ x 1″
Once my strips were attached to my card base, I then stamped my sentiment in between them using my MISTI and some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then stamped my image onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the same black ink, colored it with Copic Markers, and used the coordinating Sweet Skunks Die-namics to cut it out. Lastly, I added my image to my card with some 3d foam adhesive tape for a pop of dimension.
