MFT Stamps | Wednesday Sketch Challenge #633

February 18, 2023

Hello friends! If you have some extra time in the next few days, I encourage you to come play along with MFT Sketch Challenge #633. One lucky winner will be chosen at random to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher!

Here is a look at this week’s sketch layout. You don’t have to follow the sketch exactly but can rather substitute the shapes with images as well as flip and/or rotate the sketch. Instead of using a notebook edge for the sketch, I created an ocean wave using the Drifts & Hills Stencil. I used a blend of Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks to create my water and then added a few spatters of actual water before my ink dried to give it some texture.

**Check out my quick video below to see how I put my sketch together. **

I stamped images from the BB Friends With Fins Stamp Set, colored them with Copic Sketch Markers, and used the coordinating Friends With Fins Die-namics to cut them out.

I stamped my sentiment onto a strip of white card stock and then used the long, skinny fishtail die from Blueprints 27 to cut it out. I trimmed off the edge to make my sentiment strip shorter and adhered it (as well as my images) to my card with 3D foam adhesive tape for added dimension.

Stop by the MFT Blog for more sketch inspiration as well as the link to upload your creations! You can create as many cards as you like!

So sweet and cute. The coloring looks fantastic. I really like that you have been showing how you blend inks and splatter. I like how your nail polish coordinates with your project. I also like seeing the card come out of the envelope. So well done, Rachel! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

That color combination for the water is so good. Plus I am loving that adorable narwhal 😘 Nicely done!
