Hello crafty friends! I have some adorable 3D Easter Gift/Treat Baskets to share with you today using both the Elizabeth Craft Designs Easter Basket and Bunny Die Sets.

I have a step-by-step tutorial below to show you how to change these flat dies into a fun, useable 3D gift basket.

First, die cut all of the pieces that you will need. Secondly, glue the darker solid basket pieces behind the woven die cut pieces.
PIECES NEEDED (It looks like a lot but doesn’t take much time to die cut and assemble):
- 2 Woven Basket Pieces
- 2 Solid Basket Pieces of a different color
- 2 Solid Basket Pieces that match the woven pieces
- 2 Basket Handlews
- 2 Basket Rim Strips
- Two 1/2″ x 1/2″ pieces of card stock
- 1 rectangular piece of card stock trimmed to 3″ x 2.5″
- Bunny Pieces

Take the other two solid basket pieces and score each of them at 3/4″ and 2.25″. Then fold along the score lines.

Add adhesive to the sides of each folded section and adhere basket pieces to each side. Make sure to line up the corner and bottom of the basket to fit. You should have some excess showing off the top of the basket.

Use scissors to cut off the excess parts so that the top of the basket now looks flat – there should be 4 of them to trim off.

Take your 3″ x 2.5″ piece of card stock and score a 1/2″ from each side. Fold along the score lines and cut off square pieces at each corner.

Add some strong liquid glue to each edge and slide piece down into basket and adhere tabs to each inner side of the basket. You should now have a bottom piece to the basket that should be strong enough to hold candies and/or treats.

Fold your 1/2″ x 1/2″ pieces of card stock in half and attach one side of each into the center of each basket side as shown in the second photo above. These create the tabs to adhere your basket handles. Adhere one handle to each side the tabs and then add the second handle to the back of the first to strengthen it. Once they are glued together, it should look like one handle. Next, add basket rim strips to each side.

Piece your bunny together except for the hands. Glue your bunny to the inside center of the basket and then add hands to the outside of the basket to make it look like the bunny is peeking out.

Next, add paper grass and candy/treats. (I simply shredded some green card stock in a paper shredded. You can find paper grass at target or online. I find that the paper pieces work easier than the other types of grass, but feel free to use whatever you want – even cotton balls would work.)

These baskets are surprisingly sturdy and super easy to make! You can take a look at the other items that Elizabeth Craft Designs has to offer HERE.
